BIG NEWS:

It is with much excitement and anticipation that we have managed to negotiate a great deal for our track days, with exclusivity to us and with a max of 30 bikes. It includes coaching and lunch.

These days are very well suited to people who would never have thought about a track day. It very much caters for those with groups to try their much loved pride and joy around a track with no worries about how fast or slow they go.

The conditions below will help you to make a decision in the event of bad weather.

1.       If we arrive at the track and it is too wet to go on the track we will not start until it is safe to do so.

2.       If we do not start the event due to rain then we will either refund your money or transfer you to another date.

3.       Unfortunately we cannot control the weather but if we don’t have enough participants we cannot run the day, and for the participants already registered a refund or transfer will be done.

Lismore Motorcycles Track & Coaching Days are organised to look after our valued customers who are wanting to receive coaching from experienced instructors in a controlled environment to ride their bikes.

Yamaha’s all new WR450F is off to a flying start in more ways than one - at the race track, on the magazine stands and in the retail sales charts.

Team Active8 gave the new model its first taste of victory in the QLD Pony Express Series, and that was backed up by the Ballards Team riders who dominated their classes at rounds one and two of the Yamaha Australian

Off Road Championship.

Now desert racer Shane Diener has scooped second place in the grueling 800km Condo 750 navigational rally on the versatile race bike.

And it’s not just at the races where the new model excels.

The the new WR450F has reclaimed its rightful No 1 spot as Australia’s favourite motorcycle.

Many key magazines have featured the WR450F on their covers because editors understand that this motorcycle appeals to a wide selection of readers. Here’s what they have been saying:

“The new WR is a massive leap forward from the previous model thanks to a

fuel injected engine, YZ250F chassis and the new KYB twin chamber forks all

improving the ride” Mark Whyte, DRD

“With the new Kayabas and an ally in the bilateral beam frame, the front end is stable, capable at speed and turns like a modern bike should. It still feels planted and solid up front and not as loose as a KTM… the bike’s ability to cover a range of terrain and obstacles at any speed has been increased”

Damien Ashenhurst, Dirt Action

“The engine is even better now, particularly from the bottom to midrange where it’s easier to control but with no less grunt” & “The Yamaha Power Tuner is the best and easiest-to-use tool of its type in the universe and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a pipe to alter your power curve”

 Damien Ashenhurst,Dirt Action

“The 2011 WR450F was heralded in company blurbs as the nimblest WR450F

ever. The 2012 blows it out of the water”

 Damien Ashenhurst, Dirt Action

“The new bike will be easier to ride, live with, maintain, service and sell on

the used market than previous WRFs while remaining just as tough and

reliable as ever… you’ve gotta love that” “Climbing the most gnarly singletracks, the new WR450f feels like a 250”

Phil Gielis, Trailzone

“The new WR450F is an exceptional upgrade… it’s super easy-to-ride, the

engine is stonking and the new suspension and chassis package makes it a

better all-rounder for the masses” Ollie Sharp, Transmoto

David Roughley's Second Race Report for 2012!

Southern Downs Series # 1 – Morgan Park Raceway Warwick QLD

Saturday was the start of racing. During this 4 round series, I'm competing on both the LMC Yamaha R6 in Formula 2 and the LMC Suzuki RMZ 450 in the motard class, with the motard circuit including both bitumen and an infield dirt section with jumps.

I qualified on the front row in 3rd position, ready dominate !!! Race one was action packed, as I was holding 2nd place, “a racing incident” resulted in my spectacular highside crash. I was fine and managed to restart the bike and finish last. The remaining 4 races I gained the holeshot everytime (first bike to the first corner from the start). I was starting really well, a skill I have worked hard on the past 12 months. I gained consistency in the dirt and finished 3rd overall for the weekend, not bad considering my first round crash and last place position.

Suzuki Motorcycle Ambassador, V8 Supercar superstar, Craig Lowndes, has taken possession of a brand-new 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Chris Kiss on his Lismore motorcycles support YZ450F rode the NSW MX tittles at Moree on the Easter weekend.

Chris qualified in 8th place only 1 second behind a fast Jay Marmont on a very quick track.

Results over the day in the 3 race A+B open 12,13 & 16th in the last race of the day as the track became very rocky and rough

17 year old Victorian, Sam Martin, scored a podium result in his first MX National race on the factory supported GYTR Yamaha at the opening round of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals at Conondale over the weekend.

Josh Green aboard his YZ250F!

Josh Green, 21, sits second in Championship E1, after claiming second in the class in three out of four rounds. The Soldier’s Point (NSW) rider was locked in a heated battle with fellow Yamaha pilots. Green is also the highest-placed Outright rider on the team, sitting sixth and tied on 63-points with Glenn Kearney (in fifth).

Josh Coppins.

The CDR Yamaha team laid down some solid foundations for their 2012 championship aspirations with a strong showing at the opening round of the Monster MX Nationals held at the picturesque Conondale circuit, on the Sunshine Coast.

CDR Yamaha new recruit Lawson Bopping also finished up well  in the ultra competitive MX 1 class!

Bopping worked hard for his sixth overall for the round but acknowledges he was physically taxed by the end of the final 35 minute race.Bopping also provided the single biggest highlight of the day when he launched the massive 42metre step down jump on the famous drunks’ hill. It was a jaw dropping leap that had fans stunned when he fired his number 70 YZ450F skyward.

Daniel Milner on the 2012 YZ250F!

Victorian rider Daniel Milner had a stellar weekend in his home state, scoring enough points to move into second Outright and first in class in the 2012 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).

Quinns Road Racing for 2012

09/01/2012

Lismore Motorcycles are proud to continue our support for Quinns Racing with the supply of R6s for the 2012 season

Support the local team by attending QLD raceway on June 1/3 and September 14/16

This year sees them again with a strong line-up of our regular and some new sponsors, including our major sponsor Coopers, and we aim to fly the flag high by posting great results. We are all looking forward to getting the season underway. Chris is looking forward to the 600 rounds at Qld. & NT, especially Qld., as he always feels he is strong there. ‘I’ve struggled at times at Phillip Island but having said that, am now 1 second faster than my pb’s there and only half a second off the factory bikes. We’re close’.

Chris is yet to find out how he will fare on the 1000cc but is keen to give it a red hot go. Testing starts in January. The 1000 we have is the model before the ‘Big Bang’ R1’s, and where it may not be the absolute latest in this field, we feel confident we can run in amongst the Prostock pack with a lighter bike. Thanks to our engineer, Ian Irving at YRD, we can get similar power, so it will be really up to the ability of the rider. This year will see the Prostock Championship field racing amongst the Australian SBK’s in the same races. So it is really not for the faint hearted. This is as close as it gets.

This year, the 600 Supersport Championships are racing again on the Dunlop Control Tyres. When you think about the logistics that the boys will use 5 sets (10 tyres) each, at each race meet and that’s on the 600’s alone. It all adds up, not only in the cost, but lugging all those sets of tyres, along with 5 bikes, the tools and the crew! It’s a fair effort by this local team of dedicated privateers, who as a family, really enjoy the motorcycle racing life.

On television, it’s all made to look glitzy, glamorous and easy but as you will appreciate, there is a huge effort that goes on behind the scenes in every aspect. We all juggle the racing with our day jobs but in the words of one famous fictitious Australian, ’You wouldn’t be dead for quids’. It should be a good year if all goes to plan and everything stays together. I really believe we’ll be competitive in the 600’s. I’ve got good times at most tracks now.

It’s gonna be tough but we’re confident of being in the top 5 and from there, well, it’s anybody’s race. When you look at the pictures on the opposite page, Chris looks really at home sending the bike into a sideways drift and up on the front wheel coming in under heavy brakes. When you’re in the zone, everything running smoothly, you don’t notice these things. It’s only when things are going wrong, it really becomes amplified. It is a professional sport and at the highest levels. There is a good camaraderie between the riders. When you add up the dollars, the man hours spent, the absolute effort required, it should be classed as a job. You’ve also got to have your heart in it and you got to be enjoying it really to be competitive. If you’re not happy, you’re not going to succeed at it. The team is really enjoying the racing at the moment and looking forward to a great years racing.

Yamaha All New Auto ATV

06/01/2012

Yamaha reveals all new Auto ATV

Lismore Motor Cycles is pleased to announce the release of an all new 300cc utility ATV called the YFM300A Grizzly. This new model combines ease of use and impressive functionality with Yamaha’s high build quality standards.

The new ATV is designed for riders who are looking for an easy-to-use high quality 2WD ATV at an affordable price.

Easy-to-use yet sophisticated, compact yet powerful, high quality yet affordable, focused yet versatile… the new Grizzly 300 offers more for less. It replaces both the YFM350A Grizzly 350 2WD and YFM250 Big Bear 250 Semi Auto for 2012. With its abundant overall engine and chassis specification and easy-to-use character, this quality ATV is ready to work hard and play hard.

The ‘easy-to-use’ philosophy has heavily influenced the overall design of this ATV, and virtually every feature of the powerplant is designed with a view to making life easier and more enjoyable for the rider.

The driving force behind the Grizzly 300 is a 287cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke SOHC single-cylinder engine which delivers plenty of pulling power that enables this gutsy ATV to tow 227kg gross weight. On the farm, the excellent towing capacity makes the Grizzly 300 a willing and tireless workhorse that is ready for hard yakka at the touch of a button.

The highly efficient liquid-cooling system featured on the Grizzly 300’s engine offers the rider a number of important advantages over the traditional air-cooled design, including stable engine performance.

For ATV user, and it’s equipped with fully automatic transmission complete with Hi-Lo dual range function.

The drive train features a constantly variable transmission (CVT) and centrifugal clutch which deliver smooth, seamless acceleration,

Yamaha’s ‘easy-to-use’ philosophy is carried through into the Grizzly 300’s compact chassis, which is built around a strong and reliable tubular steel frame.

With a range of professional features such as flat tubular steel front and rear carriers, the Grizzly 300 offers a useful 65kg carrying capacity – which, along with a towing ability of 227kg, gives an impressive total payload of 292kg.

For a relaxing ride the spacious footboards on this new all-rounder are the same size as those on Yamaha’s larger models, allowing riders of all sizes to adopt a stress-free riding position. And with a capacity of 10.7 litres, the tough plastic resin fuel tank allows the Grizzly 300 rider to cover long distances before needing to refuel.

What really sets the Grizzly 300 apart from other models in the class is its unique combination of a high overall specification together with an affordable price, and of course, its easy-to-use character.

The YFM300A Grizzly is available now in traditional Steel Blue colour, priced just $6990 inc GST + .freight and PD costs

David's End Of Year Rap Up

09/12/2011

David's Epic Race Report – November 2011 • 4760km's of travelling over 3 states • 4 race tracks • 3 bikes Eastern Creek NSW – Yamaha Australian Supermono Championship This was the final round of this series. It was a successful weekend, with some great racing against a B grade rider all weekend. I gained equal 2nd in my grade for the series, learn't a heap and all achieved on a stock standard Suzuki RMZ 450. A big thanks to Yamaha and Dunlop for supporting this series. Broadford VIC – Hughie Hoare Memorial Weekend This was my first time at Broadford, on both the Suzuki RMZ 450 and Yamaha R6. I had heard it was a great track for motards, and it sure was !! I gained 2nd in my class on the RMZ, just 3 seconds off the lap record. I was stocked with this lap time, considering I had never ridden at the track before. The R6 was a heap of fun too, although not as fast in the corners as the RMZ. A big thanks to the Preston Motorcycle Club for the hospitality over the weekend too. Phillip Island VIC – Australian Supermotard Road Race Championship This was the penultimate race of the year, on the best race track in the world, on a motard !!! I had never raced on this track and never raced in the rain either. Saturday's weather was very wet and cold. I went out on wet tyres for practice, it was so fast, free flowing and wide. Qualifying was back on slick tyres, gaining 7th out of 9 competitors. I was learning the track very quickly. The first race was back on wet tyres in atrocious conditions. I gained 5th, in the worst conditions I have ever raced in yet. I was starting to really enjoy racing in the wet !! Sunday's weather was sunny with a fierce wind. It would be slick tyres for both races. I gained 3rd in the first race. It was all starting to come together, my riding style was in sync with the track. The final race of the day, I again finished 3rd. The head winds at the end of the straight were ferocious, who needed brakes with the winds at Phillip Island !!!! Overall for the weekend I gained 2nd !!!! And this was achieved on a stock standard Suzuki RMZ 450, thanks to Lismore Motorcycles A big thanks to Yamaha and Dunlop for supporting this Championship too.

Kyogle off road poker run wash up

07/12/2011

Wow what a Sunday the Kyogle LMC and Westpac helicopter off road poker run was.

The volunteers from the Kyogle MX club did a great job preparing the track despite the rain in the days leading up to Sunday.

With three tracks from PW to Seniors prepared it was a awsome day

With the 1st couple of laps in the morning being a bit slippery it dried out to have maximum traction with no dust Yea Ha

Here is some feed back and photos.

Hi all, I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the weekend.
The track was unreal, a bit slippery on the first lap, but how good did it
turn out. I have ridden a lot of tracks in my 46 years and the condition
of the track on Sunday was awesome. I ended up doing 8 loops of the senior
track which I am now feeling the effects of(just old age). I would like to
congratulate the guys and girls that did the track marking, great job.
Please let me know when the next ride is on, I'll be a definite starter.
Regards
Brad Mc.

Track Day

22/11/2011

The inaugural Lismore Motorcycle Track/Coach Day at Morgan Park Raceway on November 14 was by all accounts a resounding success. Leo, Dave and Bruce from Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD provided us with a fantastic day of riding and tuition. The track was very technical and exciting. We had a mixture of race bikes being tested to those that have not experienced the thrill of a track day before. The mixture of bikes and riders from all walks of life, came away with big smiles. One of the most notable riders for having a great time was Graeme Scarr on a Ducati. Even on the very last session he came in whooping like it was the first one. This sums up the essence of days such as this one.
We are hoping to put on another two events like this one next year. However, by g iving us your necessary support by making some purchases from Lismore Motorcycles, either from our on line shop or in store, will make subsidized future track days achievable.
NB. Not one person came off their bike. Smiles all around.

Lachlan Stanford

31/10/2011
Just a note to let you know how we went on Sunday,
I raced at Conondale in Queensland at the Yamaha /Snap Fitness Sprint Series.
As usual there was a large field at Conondale as it is one the best race venues in Australia.
Again the Suzuki RM-Z 450 was unstoppable. It performed without a hitch ,steering like on tracks and sliding like a speedway bike.
I won the day outright leaving considerable gaps behind the nearest rider.
The suzuki was great and we enjoyed putting it on the podium amongst all of the other brands there on the day,
Again we have proved that SUZUKI is as good if not better than any other bike in the Enduro Field.
Thats the last race this season and look forward to improving my results next year with Suzuki.

Thanks again for your support throughout the season.

RACE REPORT

31/10/2011
 Hi everyone at LMC,
RACE REPORT
National Off Road Series rounds 7 and 8
I had the greatest results at a National level since moving to Pro Class.

 Saturday    6th  Pro E2  [450] and 14th Outright .

 Sunday        4th Pro E2 [450]  and 9th Outright .

At the end of round 8 with 50 minutes of racing me and the Suzuki were 7 seconds from a podium  finish.
I have attached the time sheets for you to look at.
The RM-Z was perfect in every way and never missed a beat ,the Suzuki has helped me get results that I was not sure that I could achieve.
Next weekend I am off to Rockhampton again for the Queensland Championships and hope to again get some great results.
Thank you again to Lismore Motor Cycles for assisting me to achieve these results .

Davids Race Report

28/10/2011

Warwick Challenge Cup – David's Race Report • Assisted the club with track marshaling/coaching on the track day • Smashed my R6 PB by 5 seconds (full bitumen circuit) • First race on the R6 I started last, finished first before moving to a faster group • Smashed my motard PB by 5 seconds (shorter bitumen and dirt circuit) • Finished 5th out of 14 motard competitors After a hectic week at work, I arrived at Morgan Park Warwick last Friday for 3 days of riding. Friday was the track day. I assisted the level 2 coaches on my R6, with the main objectives being safety, rider enjoyment and incident communication/support. Anyone can ride at a track day, this was proven with even a rider on a Honda Goldwing having fun !!! I raced both the R6 and the stock standard RMZ motard on both Saturday and Sunday. I qualified poorly on the R6. Nevertheless, the first race was a memorable experience. Upon pulling a massive wheelie from a great start on second row of the grid, I found neutral and couldn't find first gear. After the entire grid of 17 bikes had passed me, I found second gear and pulled away. I then focused on the tasks ahead, remaining calm and relaxed. After 5 laps, I finished first. I then moved up to a faster group and continued to enjoy racing the R6, with much better starts. Plus I smashed my personal best time by 5 seconds on the R6 !!!!!! The motard racing included a dirt section on the smaller more technical circuit. I qualified 5th out of 14 competitors. I gained consistent times and results, finishing 5th overall and managed to keep it upright in the dirt section all weekend. Plus I smashed my PB time by a 5 seconds on this shorter circuit !!! Upcoming events include Eastern Creek NSW, Broadford VIC, Phillip Island VIC and Goulburn NSW. Then I plan to have a few months away from the race track over summer. These results and progress would not be possible without the unwavering support from the below organisations. I appreciate each and everyone that supports me. Lismore Motorcycles, both bikes performed strongly plus the new Yamaha Generator was great !! Tyres 4 Bikes, honest advice on tyre selection and fitment. Whilst racing I knew I could trust the tyres Mick's Fix Leather Repairs, Mick's onsite support keeps my riding gear intake and in a safe condition Ash's Spoked Wheels, endless advice relating to racing, wheels and gearing Northern Rider Magazine, actively promotes the sport of motards within the motorcycling community A&C Motorcycle Dyno Tuning, professional advice on racing and tuning Flynn Transport, logistical support for interstate race meetings
